Format your export using Google Sheets<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n– Import your CSV file to Google Sheets!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– Insert a “debit” column on the right of “Transaction Type”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– Insert a “credit” column on the right of “debit”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– Add the following formula and apply to all debit row cells :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

=IF(E2=\"credit\",D2,\"\")\n<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\nNow your file has a “debit” (F) and “credit” (G) column with negative amounts for “debit” and positive amounts for “credit”. Just one more manipulation before we can export it to CSV again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Add a Wealthica Type column<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n- Insert a new column on the left of Transaction Type<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Call it “Wealthica Type”, it should be column E<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Copy all the content from the Transaction Type column to Wealthica Type<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Use “find and replace” in column E to replace “debit” with “withdrawal”<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Use it again to replace in column E “credit” with “deposit”<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Export the new file to CSV<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nIn Google Sheets go to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
File -> Download -> .CSV<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rename the file so you know which one is the Wealthica-ready file. I called mine : mint-backup-wealthica-ready.csv<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Wealthica Create a Valuable Asset <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n- In Wealthica, create a new “Valuable Asset” and call it “Mint Backup”<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Give it a 0$ value<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Later we will import your Mint Export Data Backup to this asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Load the CSV Import Power Up<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n- Go to Power Ups (Lightning Icon)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Click on All Power Ups<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Load the CSV Import Power Up and Install it if it’s not already installed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Once it’s installed you will find it on the power up list when clicking the lightning icon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- On the CSV Import Power Up page, select “Asset”<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- On the asset dropdown, select the Mint Backup asset you create earlier<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
\n- Choose and upload the mint-backup-wealthica-ready.csv file<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Map the CVS fields to Wealthica Fields<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\nDate -> Date<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Description -> Description<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Original Description -> Ignored<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amount -> Ignored<\/p>\n\n\n\n
W Type ->\u00a0Ignored<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Transaction Type -> Ignored<\/p>\n\n\n\n
debit -> Withdrawal Amount<\/p>\n\n\n\n
credit -> Deposit Amount<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Category -> Category<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Account Name -> Note<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Labels -> Ignored<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notes -> Ignored<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only 1 field can currently be mapped to Note, you can select the one you prefer. We felt Account Name was the most useful here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are ready to import your Mint Export data<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n\u27a1\ufe0f Click import at the bottom.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nIt will process and you will be redirected to the imported transactions list. Make sure your date range is set accordingly to what you want to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your Mint backup is now imported and can be found under your Mint Backup asset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
